Halstonberg
consumer legal coverage
About

Independent, plain-English coverage of consumer law.

Halstonberg is an editorial publication covering five areas of consumer law and procedure: tax debt, mass tort litigation, small business legal mechanics, lemon law claims, and expungement. We write for people who are trying to understand a system they did not choose to participate in.

Most coverage of these areas online is produced by law firms or lead-generation companies that have a commercial interest in pushing readers toward a particular outcome — usually retaining the firm that paid for the page. Halstonberg is structurally independent of that funnel. We do not represent clients, sell referrals, or accept paid placement.

Editorial approach

Halstonberg cites primary sources — statutes, regulations, agency manuals, MDL orders, state-court rules — wherever the underlying authority exists. Where the law is genuinely ambiguous, we say so. Where settled procedure exists, we describe it without sensationalism. Coverage is reviewed by a credentialed practitioner in the relevant area before publication.

See Editorial Standards for our full review, citation, and correction policies.

Not legal advice

Halstonberg publishes editorial coverage of consumer law and procedure for informational purposes only. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and reading Halstonberg does not create an attorney–client relationship. The law varies by jurisdiction, and your specific situation may turn on facts a published article cannot address. Consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction for guidance on your specific matter.
